This strain was grown around the desert towns of Balkh, Sheberghan and Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan. It is best known for the hashish that it is used to produce which is called Shirak-i-Mazar. This strain grows incredibly well in well irrigated soil and can produce amazing flowers that are absolutely dripping with resin.
This strain is ideal for those who live in chillier parts of the world as it can grow perfectly well in snow. In cold weather the plant takes on a beautiful, deep red hue as it matures. This strain is excellent for making hashish and other cannabis extracts. Its scent is extremely sweet and pungent with a delightfully chilled out high. However this strain should not be abused as the effect can quickly become a bit less pleasant.
This is a regular strain and so it will grow into a combination of female and male plants. It will also require a specific light cycle in order to flower because it is a photperiod strain. Photoperiod strains respond to the cycle of the sun or to grow lights that mimic the same cycle. Breeders will usually use regular seeds because of their mixed gender. They render breeding significantly more simple and allow for selective breeding to improve genetics. Regular seeds are still popular amongst old school breeders who prefer them for their traditional simplicity.
This strain will grow well both indoors and outdoors and has a flowering time of 55 - 70 days.
Remember that the cultivation of cannabis seeds is illegal in some countries, please check the laws of your country before attempting to cultivate cannabis seeds.
