This excellent strain is one that Royal Queen Seeds are very pleased to add their array. It is famed to be one of the most well-known strains of cannabis worldwide, as well as being one of the most potent.
Sour Diesel originates from California, as with many other popular cannabis strains developed of late. As the growth structure and would suggest, this seed is a mostly Sativa strain.
The plant has a growing period of 10 weeks, over which it develops some resin heavy buds and a strong aroma, after a vegetative period of 3-to-4 weeks.
With its strong American genetics this seed will grow extremely well indoors. Outdoors, however, this strain would need to be in a warm climate, like that of California or Spain.
This strain will grow to a height of around 100-130 cm, with some stretching during early flowering. With good growing conditions, this plant will have a yield of around 450-600 grams per square metre of high-quality, resinous, aromatic buds.
Royal Queen Seeds has made Sour Diesel feminised, making for a much easier growing process. It is this that gives it the advantage over other regular seeds. With a regular seed it is normal for there to be a 50/50 split between male and female plants.
Realistically, as the females are the only ones actually needed for cultivation, the males are essentially useless. A grower then requires twice the amount of space and time, while spending twice the amount of money, for the correct number of females to be achieved.
With a feminised seed, on the other hand, this means that 99.99% of the plants will be female, making it ideal for the less experienced grower, as it eliminates the hassle that is included when dealing with the males.
Even if a grower wished to cultivate a crop of their own, the males are not absolutely necessary for pollen to be produced.
Careful manipulation of the females mean that the pollen can actually be produced without the use of the male plants, meaning that the next generation will have a genetic purity of a higher level than if both the males and females had been used.
This method is however quite difficult for anything other than an experienced grower.
Please remember that the growing of cannabis plants and the cultivation of seeds is illegal in some countries - please check the laws of your country and don't be growing any plants if it is against your country's laws.
