This strain, as is made clear by the name Skunk Kush, is a hybrid of Hindu Kush and Skunk #1, two extremely popular and sought-after strains. Skunk Kush has been through generation after generation of cross-breeding in order to give it its distinctive flavour and character.
This feminised version of the strain displays its Afghanica heritage through its thick, dark foliage whilst the Skunk side of its genetic make-up provides vigorous production and impressive height.
Skunk Kush is also renowned for its bud formation which comes from its Afghani Skunk heritage. The surface area of the buds leave plenty of room for resin to develop.
The trichomes grow so vigorously that they can actually be seen to change towards harvest time, certainly something to behold.
The aromas of this particular strain are distinctly resinous, musky, and delightfully citrusy, the strain also has a somewhat menthol like flavour which can really open up the sinuses. The effect is a dreamy, giggly one which is certainly a part of what makes this strain so very popular.
Feminising a strain is a process which has been popular for many years now, and was originally put into practice by the Dutch Passion seed bank. The process was created in order to remove one of the primary issues facing growers, male plants.
Growers have no need for the male plants in their crops since their only purpose is the production of the pollen needed for breeding.
So for those who have no use for this pollen, male plants simply take up precious space in their crop, not to mention costs them a significant amount of money. When using regular seeds a grower would have to purchase twice as many seeds to achieve the desired number of females.
Feminised seeds are also perfect for experienced breeders as it is possible, although extremely difficult, to stress the female plants in such a way that causes them to release pollen.
This pollen can then be used to fertilise another female in order to create seeds, these seeds have been reported to be higher in quality and uniformity than those born from a male and a female plant.
Skunk Kush has a short flowering period of just 40 - 65 days and thrives in a sunny or Mediterranean environment where it can enjoy a decent amount of direct sunlight. The strain is 40% Sativa and 60% Indica, has average height gain and a large yield.
Please remember that the growing of cannabis plants and the cultivation of seeds is illegal in some countries - please check the laws of your country and don't be growing any plants if it is against your country's laws
