Do-si-dos and Holy Punch strains were crossed to form Velvet Moon, a 60 percent indica hybrid strain. Velvet Moon is a fast-growing, aesthetically attractive plant with a sweet, strong aroma.
Velvet Moon is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation, and once in blooming mode, it only stretches moderately. Even as it approaches maturity, strong side-branches do not require any assistance. Flowering takes 8 to 9 weeks indoors, with moderate to high yields. Outdoor harvests commence in early October in northern latitudes, with yields of up to 700 grammes per plant feasible from plants that grow to be 170 to 200 cm tall.
Mature buds are tight, spherical, and compact, and they are densely packed with resin. Like its Holy Smoke father, the aroma is sweet and fruity, but it also has a lemon acidity and earthiness from the Dosidos parent. On the palate, it has a rich flavour profile with a balance of acidity and sweetness, as well as an earthy creaminess on the exhale.
The effect is fast-acting and cerebral, staying for a long time before gradually fading into a satisfying and cheerful buzz.
