Growing outside can be tricky, especially in certain parts of the world. Plants are exposed to all sorts of mould, pests and other environmental issues that could ruin a crop. If you live in an area that isn’t conducive to growing more delicate strains then you might need something tougher. These strains are the most resistant to mould and pests on the market. These plants can basically grow themselves and do not need to be babied.
A tough name for a tough strain, this is a cross between New York City Diesel and Lowryder #2. She is a balance of Sativa, Indica and Ruderalis which means she has a soft yet cerebral effect and is very fast flowering. This strain is well known for its versatility. She will grow well pretty much anywhere from cupboards to wild gardens. Everything about her is intense, from her height to her scent. Outdoors she can grow over a meter tall and indoors she has a powerful smell of diesel and fuel. She’s not the most discrete plant, but she is fast and produces great yields. Despite being a hardcore strain her THC level is just 14% so she is perfect for those who are new to growing. She has a flowering time of 8 – 9 weeks and grows well indoors or outdoors.
This powerful strain is a cross between MK-Ultra and Black Domina. It is Indica dominant and resistant to pretty much everything. She gets her name from her monster yields of 900 g/plant outdoors and 800 g/m2 indoors. Her THC levels are also extremely impressive and sit at around 20%. The effect of the strain is very relaxing and calming, which doesn’t fit with the rest of her intense vibe. It has a full-body chill to it that is great for evening use or for those who struggle with anxiety. Again this strain is autoflowering which decreases the flowering time. This in turn makes it harder for pests and mould to get a handle on the plants. She has a flowering time of just 49 – 56 days and will grow well indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
This strain is unique in its lineage as it comes from two very different strains. ATA Tundra is a combination between Tundra and Kazakhstani. Tundra is a cold-resistant strain from Alaska that is one of the toughest strains on the market. Kazakhstani is from Kazakhstan, unsurprisingly, and is very similar to other Afghani and Pakistani style strains. These strains are both great at growing outside in difficult weather conditions, are resistant to pests and don’t take kindly to mould. It smells strongly of lemons and produces massive buds completely covered in resin. The THC level usually sits at around 19% and has a heavy comfortable Indica effect. This strain will grow in pretty much any climate but does need a seasoned hand to ensure it grows well. She has an extremely short flowering time of just 6 – 8 weeks and can grow indoors or outdoors.
This strain has won several awards and is the perfect strain for new growers. She is very hardy, easy to grow and produces amazing yields. She is also very potent and Indica dominant, often used for medicinal purposes. The effect is a powerful and relaxing full-body euphoria. This makes it perfect for those who are suffering from loss of appetite, insomnia, muscle spasms, pain or stress. The only potential issue that growers need to watch out for is grey mould. The buds are extremely dense and so if too much moisture gets between them it can cause problems. Green Poison has a deliciously fruity scent and flavour. This strain grows well indoors or outdoors and has a short flowering time of just 7 weeks.
Candy Kush is well known for its excellent balance of Indica and Sativa. It is Indica dominant and has a powerful couch-lock effect. It is also very relaxing which makes it perfect for those struggling with insomnia, pain and stress. This strain was created by combining Sweet Special and Royal Kush. As the name suggests the flavour and scent are deliciously sweet with just a hint of musk. The THC content is usually around 18% so it will knock inexperienced smokers off their feet. Indoors this strain will produce around 450 g/m2 and outdoors around 500 g/plant. This strain is extremely easy to grow and is very fast flowering. Its flowering time is just 7 weeks, and the massive yield of buds will be coated in crystal resin. Candy Kush can happily be grown indoors or outdoors.
This strain is super exotic and comes from pure Brazillian genetics. This strain is famous for its medicinal and painkilling properties. It is a cerebral and uplifting sedative that is fantastic for pain, stress and insomnia. The strain is strong but not overwhelming which makes it perfect for a wide variety of medicinal and recreational users. It has a peppery and spicy aroma that is bright and delicious. The branches may need a little support during the later stages of growth as the buds are massive and quite heavy. Despite it having such large buds this strain is resistant to mould and fungus, even when grown in super humid conditions. This strain does have quite a long flowering time of 11 – 13 weeks, but it is more than worth the wait. Brazil Amazonia is very versatile and will grow well indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
This hybrid strain is a cross between Vietnam Black and China Yunnan. Though it is a mix of Indica and Sativa the effect is primarily Sativa. It produces impressive yields of resinous buds that cause the plant to appear more Sativa than Indica. This strain is tough because it adapts to its environment and grows well no matter what. Her flavour is dense and earthy and her effect is uplifting and euphoric. She can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
