Best Strains to Smoke After Therapy

Therapy is something that many of us will go through at some point in our lives. Getting up the courage and actually doing the session can take a lot of courage and strength. Talking about our feelings, our past, or our traumas can be brutal. Then, unfortunately, the period directly afterwards can be even more difficult. When we have opened up those locked doors and let everything out, we are just left with the aftershock. Often we are trying to process new realisations, or trying to move past a trigger that we may even have inflicted on ourselves. I find the best way to get through this period is with self-care and a little self-medication. Just something to tone down the brain noises and help the brain recover from everything it has just been dealing with.

Northern Lights

After a particularly hard session, Northern Lights can be an amazing way to combat residual anxiety. Sometimes when we bring up issues that cause us anxiety in order to work through them we can be left with an aggressive feeling of unease. Often the brain takes a little while to catch up with the breakthrough you may or may not have made. Northern Lights is famous for its powerful and relaxing effect that soothes the mind and the body. She has a THC level of 18%, so can be a little powerful for some smokers. However, if you are completely exhausted from your session and just want to happily watch a film and eat some snacks then this mild couch-lock is perfect. Northern Lights also has a pretty impressive CBD level of 1 – 5% which tends to make it a lot more therapeutic than other strains. This strain has a flowering time of just 7 – 8 weeks and will happily grow indoors or outdoors.

Cinex

If you have plans right after your therapy session then Cinex is great for getting your brain back on track. Sometimes post-therapy we can get bogged down in the things that depress us. Bringing it all up can be easy, but putting it away is not so much. Cinex is an uplifting strain that will help pull you out of any depression you may feel after working through your brain nonsense. This strain is powerful, chatty and euphoric which makes it superb for getting yourself back in the mood to go out and see friends. Sometimes the best way to cleanse yourself of that negativity is just to shut it out for a while and let your brain work through it without you. Despite the energetic nature of the strain is still lets the brain relax and gives it a break from the heavy stuff. This strain has a flowering time of 50 – 60 days and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

Super Sour OG

If you are in emotional distress this is one of the best strains to just give you a break and let you rest. Dealing with trauma, even in a safe space, can be taxing on your mind and body. It’s easy to accidentally self trigger and bring up emotions that you may not have felt since experiencing the traumatic event. Essentially PTSD can be absolutely terrifying. Super Sour OG is relaxing, soothing and uplifting. It is a great choice for getting through any kind of episode or attack. It will allow the body to relax through the fight or flight reflex that would usually put you in a state of fear or anxiety. Not only is it extremely soothing but it has a wonderful smell and flavour of fresh blueberries mixed with a hint of the classic sour. Super Sour OG has a flowering time of just 8 – 9 weeks and will grow well indoors or outdoors.

Grandaddy Purple

If all else fails and you feel like you just need an immediate nap, this is the strain. Sometimes relaxing or having a break just isn’t enough. On occasion, when we delve too deep into the back of our brain where all the scary stuff hides, there’s nothing to do but a hard reset. Grandaddy Purple is a sedative that is both strong and relaxing. When you get home from therapy or log off the call you might just need to sleep. That is totally fair, I know that when stuff gets overwhelming I feel nothing helps like a nap. Unfortunately, if you’ve activated all those intense parts of your brain sleep can be the furthest thing from your mind. This strain will relax the body and the mind while gently lulling it into a refreshing and dreamless sleep. When nothing else can be done it’s best to just snooze it off and start again later. Grandaddy Purple usually has a THC level of 25 – 35% meaning that it should be able to knock out even the most seasoned smoker. This strain has a flowering time of 60 – 65 days and grows well indoors pr outdoors.

American Pie

This strain is perfect for anyone who just wants to come out of therapy and have a good time. American pie is a delightfully trippy strain that is at the same time pretty relaxing. It is a combination of Power Plant and White Widow which gives it its unique effect. The THC level is pretty high at 20% so those with a low tolerance should be wary. Once you’ve sat for an hour and considered all the issues and flaws inside your mind it can be fun to just let loose. This strain will send your brain on a nice little holiday with its psychedelic vibes and chill full-body stone. The high is also crystal clear and vibrant, taking your mind to a whole other level. It is also perfect for creativity, another excellent way to deal with your emotions after a session. American Pie is Sativa dominant, so nice and perky, and is relatively easy to grow. She has a flowering time of 65 – 70 days and will grow well indoors or outdoors.
