Grow tents are becoming more and more popular due to their being easy to set up, easy to use and portable. We’ve had a look at the best tents on the market, and at the basic set-up of a grow tent, so today we are going to look at which strains will grow best inside a tent. There are a few things we need to think about before we go tent growing. How tall is the strain, how strong is its smell, how bushy, what does it need? There are a number of factors that we need to take into account.
This strain is well known for being extremely small and compact which is perfect for growing in a tent. Even though it is quite tiny as a plant is produces extremely impressive yields. It has a physical and heady effect with a fruity yet earthy flavour and scent. It is a strain with moderate THC so it won’t completely overwhelm smokers. American Dream is extremely popular amongst cannabis connoisseurs for its amazing smells and comfortable yet euphoric and creative effects. American Dream is Indica dominant which is responsible for its smaller stature. She has a short flowering time of 7 – 8 weeks and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
This strain is a pure Indica so also grows into a very small plant. It’ll usually only get to around 100cm in height but will still produce fantastic yields. This strain has a powerful and physical effect that brings on a sedative couch-lock, perfect for bedtime. It is also extremely relaxing so perfect for anyone that suffers from stress-related insomnia. This strain is based on Afghani genetics and has already become an extremely popular strain. It’s actually considered to be one of the best Afghani strains to make it to the Western world. The buds have an orange and grapefruit flavour with just a hint of sweetness. This strain needs a warm and sunny environment so she will do extremely well in a controlled environment grow tent. She has a flowering time of just 6 – 7 weeks and will grow well indoors or outdoors.
Skunk is one of the most popular strains on the market, and this auto version is not only faster flowering but much shorter. The smaller the plant the better for a grow tent. Especially if you’re lacking in space and need to get a small one plant tent. This strain has the classic skunk effect, a powerful head and body high. It also has a strong skunk scent, so it might be a good idea to get a charcoal filter placed into the tent vent. Skunk Auto can be a little trickier to grow than some other strains and might not be ideal for beginners. Skunk #1 is a balanced strain with a medium THC level which makes it great for all levels of smoker. It has a flowering time of 45 – 55 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.
This is another autoflowering strain which means it has the short stature that works so well with a grow tent. Amnesia Haze is a powerful strain with a THC level of around 21%. Definitely not a great strain for those with a low tolerance. It is one of the worlds most famous strains and was created when a dutch variety of Haze was crossed with an old school Haze by an American ex-pat. Its effect is euphoric and cerebral making it a great daytime recreational strain. The buds are extremely sweet and are completely coated with a layer of resin. Despite the height of the plants they will still produce impressive yields. It is a stable and well-structured plant that is perfect for all levels of grower or breeder. Amnesia Haze Auto has a slightly longer flowering time of 80 – 90 days but it is more than worth the wait.
This is one of the tastiest strains around and with one of the largest yields. It was created by combining Lavender and Bubblegum. This means that the colours of the plants will range quite widely between light, beautiful purple and deep red or even black. The buds are tight and dense with a thick coating of resin that causes the buds to sparkle under the grow lights. She is usually a short strain but she may need a little topping to keep her under control. She also has a pretty strong scent and is another strain that may need a carbon filter. The effect is pretty powerful and needs to be taken seriously. Melon Gum has a flowering time of just 7 – 8 weeks and will grow indoors or outdoors.
This award-winning strain may not seem like a perfect tent grow due to its size. This plant tends to grow a little large but can be kept under control if it is properly groomed. The best thing about Royal Moby is that she will produce incredible yields even when she is growing in a tent. She has a strong, uplifting, psychedelic and cerebral effect. No wonder she is so amazing, she was created by combining Haze and White Widow. Royal Moby has a THC level of 21% so she is pretty powerful. She also needs a lot of light and heat so will benefit from a strong grow light and good heat monitoring. She has a flowering time of 9 – 10 weeks and she will grow well indoors or outdoors.
This final strain is a great short plant that produces impressive yields of potent buds. The THC level on these babies usually hits around 23%. She has a cerebral, euphoric, powerful and relaxing effect with a nice physical relaxation. The buds are deliciously sweet and make a perfect after-dinner treat at the end of a long day. Usually, Royal Cookies will usually only grow to between 80 – 110 cm which is ideal for tent growing. The strain has a flowering time of 56 – 63 days and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
