Best Strains for Storms

Recently we have been experiencing not a small amount of inclement weather. In fact, a massive storm has been sweeping the country and causing a fair amount of havoc. We’ve seen torrential rain, snow, insanely high winds and all sorts of other nonsense. So if you have the luxury of staying inside and getting high, do it. Of course, there are a fair few strains that probably wouldn’t go very well with a storm. For example, anything that makes you super high energy, or paranoid, or anxious. Especially if you live in one of the areas that is being absolutely beaten by the weather. So here is a list of the very best strains to enjoy if you are stuck indoors in a storm.

Swiss Dream CBD

Let’s start with something for all the smokers out there who get really freaked out by storms. Totally fair, our animal brains are pretty consistent when it comes to horrible or intense weather. A big old danger sign can light up in our head and no matter how much we try to logic it away it just won’t go. These people may not want to risk something too psychoactive especially if they are already distressed. Swiss Dream CBD is a relaxing and calming strain with almost no THC in it. Literally, the amount is something like 0.25% while the CBD level is over 5%. This means you’re not going to get accidentally freaked out or paranoid. Instead this strain will just let your brain mellow out and enjoy snuggling up with a book while the storm rages outside. This strain is both mentally and physically relaxing, medicinally it is usually used by those who suffer with muscle spasms. Swiss Dream CBD has a flowering time of 70 – 75 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Black Zombie

If you’re a seasoned smoker and you want to spend the storm off your face watching films or playing games then Black Zombie is probably more your speed. Unlike our last strain this baby has a THC level of 22% and very low CBD. The effect is a full body relaxation with a powerful physical hit. Usually she is used for pain but she is also perfect for just turning into a blanketed puddle in front of the tv. Personally I think this is a great two person strain. Put on a film, cuddle up, fall asleep on each other to the sound of the rain hitting the windows. That’s a heck of an afternoon right there. This strain was created by crossing two powerhouses together, Black Domina and Zombie Virus. No wonder it’s so strong. Black Zombie has a flowering time of 7 – 8 weeks and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Grapefruit

I know I said you probably wouldn’t want anything too stimulating but that was then and this is now, things change. If you are a social butterfly and you resent being stuck indoors then smoke some of this and play a game online with your friends. There are sites where you can play a bunch of different games over zoom, or you can play co-op on a console or whatever your poison is. This strain is not only quite social but very focused and stimulating. Maybe there is a creative project you just haven’t had time to work on. Well now is your chance! Have a puff of this and get creating, it’s especially good for writing. The main thing about this strain is that it’s fantastic for depression, which can be exacerbated by having to stay inside. The THC for this one is 20% so she can be pretty powerful. She has a flowering time of 55 – 62 days and will grow well indoors or outdoors.

Bisho Purple

If you are looking for something that is a little energetic but also quite relaxed then this might be a better option for you. This strain is perfect if you find being stuck indoors depressing or to be bad for your mental health generally. Bisho Purple will give you all the energy you need to get things done around the house, do some indoor exercise, or whatever kicks your brain into a better place. This strain is also well known for its fantastic scent which is a combination of wood, spices, and incense with a sweet yet tart berry flavour. This strain can also be great for getting through a few of those books you’ve started but got too distracted to finish. Bisho Purple has a flowering time of 58 – 62 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

White Diesel Haze

This strain is just going to be the perfect accompaniment to a chill afternoon. White Diesel Haze is, funnily enough, a combination of White Diesel and Haze. The effect is happy and uplifting with a lovely cerebral touch. This is great for just really enjoying the time indoors while the storm rages. No anxiety, no stress, no down, just having a lovely time with some snacks, a film, a video game, a puzzle, whatever you do for fun. My recommendation for this strain is to make some kind of chubby food, put on a really shitty horror film, and wrap yourself in as many blankets as you can find. Oh you should also probably take all of your bedding and put it on your couch, make a little stoner nest. White Diesel Haze has a flowering time of 50 – 65 days and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

Pink Kush

This final strain is going to completely knock you out. Whether you’re scared of storms or you’ve got insanely noisy windows this strain is perfect for getting a good night’s sleep while the weather rages outside. Pink Kush is a sedative and a relaxant so you can get a restful sleep free of dreams or interruptions. Pink Kush has a flowering time of 55 – 65 days and will grow well indoors or outdoors.
