The CBD Boom in the UK

CBD BOOM UK

CBD Boom UK

I’ve been in the Cannabis Industry for nearly two years. My first introduction to it was through George, one of the owners at The Vault, where I took on a role looking after some of marketing for the business that I am now writing this for.

Before moving into the industry, I didn’t know much about it. I certainly didn’t know that it was ok to sell Cannabis Seeds in the UK, as long as they were being sold as souvenirs.  It is legal to buy, sell and store Cannabis Seeds in the UK but illegal to germinate them.

Since then, I’ve learned a lot about the industry and the cause and I’m fully behind it becoming legal here and anywhere else for both medical and recreational use.

With the expectation of recreational Cannabis becoming legal and the already existing booming market for CBD, things have started really motoring for the Cannabis Industry across the globe. As I write this 11 states in the UK have gone fully legal as well as the whole of Canada, not forgetting Uruguay, who was the first country to do so.

Right now the UK CBD market is flourishing and by 2025 (according to healtheuropa.eu website) it is expected to be worth over £1billion.

The reason, I feel, behind this is the number of ways CBD can be used in existing products, like creams and scrubs, and tea or coffee, for a quick example. I think existing brands have jumped on this to try and freshen up their own brand. Entrepreneurs or Ganjapreneurs as I’ve heard them being called on ‘The Gram’ are quickly establishing new and interesting products to take advantage of this new phenomenon.

CBD Gummies

You can buy, cbd oil, cbd coffee, cbd gummies, cbd gumdrops, cbd relieving cream, scented cbd rubs, cbd sleeping mask, hemp oil tablets with cbd, cbd vape pen, cbd bathmbombs, cbd chocolates, cbd for your pets, the list is becoming endless. You need to CBD it, to believe it. Bad joke, sorry. But it is literally everywhere.

CBD Coffee

What is your experience of CBD?

It would be good to get your thoughts on CBD! Have you tried it and was it worth the money? Do you feel it’s being over-sold and a bit of a passing fad, or here to stay. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Summary

It remains to be seen if CBD will continue on its an upward trend, as the consumer will want to make sure that the hype is true by testing it out, and that CBD in whatever form you take it in, does what it says on the tin (or wrapper or whatever).

There are a few sceptics about the CBD phenomenon, perhaps some are right and perhaps not. We’ve yet to find out yet.

With Cannabis laws proposed to change in the next 5-15 years which brings in the legalisation of recreational weed, the industry will explode even further, so CBD will have it’s partner back.
