One extremely popular stoned activity is video games and has been since the video game began. Generally playing games is fantastic for the brain and relaxation. It has been proven that video games improve hand-eye coordination, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve social skills. Of course, most people just play them because they are extremely fun and a cathartic way to relax. When it comes to smoking and gaming it does depend on the type of game. For example, someone playing an online fighting game like Call of Duty may want something a little different so someone cuddled up and playing Spyro Remastered. In this article, we will look through a nice variety of gaming strains to get the most out of that downtime.

Lemon Kush

Lemon Kush is a perfectly balanced strain that gives us everything we need in a gaming session. There are the ultra-comfortable couch lock and relaxation in the body that gives it that little time out. However, for the brain, it is uplifting, euphoric and calming providing a happy soft focus that is great for less complex games. This may not be the ultimate strain for something like Final Fantasy or really anything with intense problem or puzzle-solving involved. For most games, it gives us all the awareness we need to enjoy it while squishing the body into a comfortable lump of couch and snacks. This strain was created by combining Lemon Skunk and The OG #18, so it’s hardly surprising that it turned out to be such a winner. It still has the sharp citrus aroma and flavour of the Lemon Skunk which is only amplified by the OG parent. Medicinally this strain is perfect for anyone suffering from depression, nausea, lack of appetite and stress. As I said earlier, make sure there are plenty of snacks in the area before turning on the console. Lemon Kush has a flowering time of 56 – 63 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

White Widow

Of course, White Widow is a name that we have all heard before. She is used for a wide variety of things, especially in the medicinal world. That is what makes her such a fantastic gaming strain. Once again she is potently relaxing and comfortable with a soft calm that permeates the brain and removes every ounce of stress. While doing that she can also uplift and energise the brain, perfect for staying focused enough to really enjoy playing. Many say that she is the best strain to smoke before playing for those who want to enhance their gaming experience. She is also perfect for socialising so can be used for in-person or online gaming sessions without worrying about the conversation drifting off or dying. She has the flavour and scent of fresh-cut flowers, though I’m not sure why anyone would be eating fresh-cut flowers, and a smooth, fresh lift to the aftertaste. She is a famously easy strain to grow and has a flowering time of just 8 weeks. This version will usually grow best indoors but can handle certain outdoor climates.

Acapulco Gold

Another strain famous for being uplifting yet immensely relaxing, and so perfect for video games. The Acapulco Gold effect not only both chills and stimulates simultaneously, but it lasts as few other strains can. This strain has been around longer than most and was used medicinally significantly before America was colonised. She has extremely high THC levels of around 21% so new smokers should probably proceed with caution. However, for anyone who needs something a little heavier than average, she is perfect. I would suggest Acapulco Gold for extremely visual games with beautifully designed surroundings like Horizon Zero Dawn or maybe an Assassins Creed. Something with plenty of detailed design and a whole lot of climbing up huge buildings or hunting strange animals. An excellent fantasy smoke. She has a deliciously light and fruity bouquet and is a prize winner. She took 1st place at the Sativa Cup in 2010. She has a flowering time of 60 – 70 days and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

Green Crack

This next strain is definitely for all of the competitive gamers who don’t want to lose their edge. This strain is powerfully focused and stimulating with an awake, lively effect. This means she is a great strain for puzzle solving, quick-fire attacking and strategy. Green Crack is perfect for groups and for solo use as it allows for some interesting conversation, but doesn’t necessarily increase the need to be social. She has a sweet but smooth citrus flavour and scent that is nothing short of mouth-watering. Her THC level can get pretty high, reaching up to 20%. Another one for newer smokers to watch out for. She is also not ideal for anyone to tends to struggle with anxiety as the effect can be quite intense. This strain has a flowering time of 58 – 65 and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Blue Dream

Blue Dream is another uplifting and energetic strain that will keep the brain focused and the body comfortable. She has some serious power behind her with a THC level of around 25% and a CBD level of 1 – 5%. If we aren’t careful we can go right past the perfect gaming brain and straight into a confused and meandering super high brain. She has an extremely impressive genetic background. Blue Dream was created by combining Super Silver Haze, Blueberry, Afghani, Thai and Mexican. Medicinally she is best known for being a fantastic treater of PMS but can be generally used for pain, muscle spasms, nausea and appetite loss. This is another strain that demands a healthy stock of snacks before going into a gaming session. She is also well known for her incredible yields, making her one of the most popular strains for commercial growers. She has a flowering time of 65 – 70 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.
