Since most of us are confined to our homes at the moment, we are likely doing quite a bit more housework. We are also probably less motivated than usual. The result is that the desire to just roll around in our own filth becomes significantly more than usual. Well, at least it has been for me. If there is one thing Mary Poppins taught me it’s that we can make chores fun. She did it with singing and magic, I’m suggesting instead using the perfect cannabis strains to uplift and motivate during chore time. There isn’t much of a difference between the two approaches. These are just a few of the most uplifting and motivational strains that will help anyone get on top of that housework.

Green Crack

This gal gets its name from the incredibly high energy effect that can kickstart even the sleepiest brains. It doesn’t just send the brain soaring but provides laser-sharp focus. She is uplifting and happy as well as powerfully perky which makes her the perfect strain for spinning around the house getting things done. Green Crack is also high yielding and produces amazing amounts of glistening resin. Though she is extremely cerebral and exhilarating she also has a THC level of 19%, so newer smokers may want to be careful if they have a lot to get done. Green Crack is also famous for her amazing scent and flavour.  She starts with a beautifully bright citrus that then changes into a smooth sweetness as an aftertaste. As she is so happy, uplifting and focused she makes a fantastic day time medicinal strain for a variety of health issues. Green Crack can be grown indoors or outdoors and has a flowering time of 58 – 65 days.

Super Silver Sour Diesel Haze

This is an old school strain that really takes the brain back but also focuses it forward. It is uplifting, cerebral and stimulating but super powerful. This means it’s perfect for mechanical cleaning tasks, as long as it doesn’t matter if maybe a frying pan ends up in the fridge. This strain brings together two of the most popular strains on the market to create something wonderful. Anyone who has been smoking for a while will definitely be a fan. Blast some Led Zepplin and get to repainting the wall that somehow got red wine spilt on it. The flavour is a delicious yet refreshing combination of citrus and pine with a soft woody finish. This strain is also super resinous and is an excellent one for extracts like hash. This strain takes a little longer to flower, usually around 70 – 84 days. It is also pretty versatile and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Amnesia Haze

This little lady manages to make her way onto most “best strain” lists because she just is one of the best strains, period. She was created by combining Jamaican, Laotian, Thai, Hawaiian, and Cambodian Haze strains. Combining these with Super Skunk created a truly phenomenal strain that feels both old school and super modern at the same time. She is euphoric and cerebral, but maybe a little less focused than some of the previous strains. As long as we aren’t doing anything that involves technical perfection we should still be fine. This strain for me is a throw on a great TV show and get the dishes done or do some leisurely organising. Nothing too hardcore, but enough to provide that sense of accomplishment and a clear space afterwards. This one demands respect as she has a THC level of around 22%. If we aren’t careful it may be easy to just end up wandering off and doing an impromptu painting. She takes around 77 days to flower and will grow well indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

Strawberry Cough

This strain is a little better for those of us who maybe can’t handle the super high THC while trying to do housework. I know that if I lean too far into the old uplifting and euphoric state I will not tidy, I will wander off to play with wigs or whatever other activity I can find. Strawberry Cough has a THC level of 10 – 15%, so enough to get the brain going but not enough to send it off sideways. She is also uplifting and euphoric and perfect for turning housework into a bit of fun rather than a boring chore. As she grows she produces large, dense, pinecone shaped buds that are dripping with resin. She also takes on a lovely deep purple colour as she matures. She smells and tastes like fresh sweet berries, essentially she is just a delightful strain in every possible way. Medicinally she is perfect for anyone suffering from anxiety, depression and stress. We all know that those three can make getting anything done an absolute nightmare. She has a flowering time of 9 weeks and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

Santa Muerte

This strain is considered to be one of the finest strains of Mexican Sativa to ever make it to the UK. Sure her name is technically The Saint of Death, but don’t let that be too intimidating. She was created by combining Original Haze and Mexicana. This strain is sure to stimulate and excite the brain, but once again can pack a wallop if we aren’t careful. Her THC level usually hits around 18 – 20%. She may be better in small doses until the bulk of the work is done. She may also not be the best strain for novice growers as she can be a little picky with her surroundings and her food. This strain will provide intense mental stimulation but is likely best for chores that can’t be messed up too poorly. There’s nothing quite like losing half of your clothes for three weeks then finding them in the dishwasher. She takes a little longer to flower at 10 – 11 weeks but is more than worth the wait. She can however be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
