Best Things To Bake While Stoned Part 1

I’ve written a fair bit about what to bake your weed into, but now lets just have a look at things to bake while your weed is in you. Baking is one of my favourite stoned pastimes because it’s fun, especially with other people, and at the end you get to eat a thing. I would just say bake whatever you want and have fun with it. But that would be irresponsible of me. There are certainly things that are made for stoned baking and things that are not. Anything that involves specific skills or techniques, anything that involves impeccable timing, and anything that requires very delicate treatment is right out. Even if you are a professional baker just make something fun that you know will turn out well and be delicious. Here are a few of my absolute favourite things to bake while you’re stoned, part one.

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ok there is nothing like a gooey cookie fresh out of the oven when you have the munchies. Here is a basic yet delicious double chocolate chip cookie recipe.

You’ll Need:

  • 300g Brown Sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 300g Self Raising Flour
  • 200g Softened Butter
  • Chocolate Chips
  • 2tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1tsp Baking Powder
  • 80g Cocoa Powder

Directions:

While your oven is heating to 180 degrees celsius (gas mark 4) you can separate your ingredients into two separate bowls. Cream together the soft butter and sugar, basically that means mix it until it’s creamy. You can then chuck in your vanilla extract and your eggs. Beat all of this together until it’s nice and fluffy and smooth.

Then it’s time to combine your dry ingredients in a second bowl. See how easy this is? Use a sieve to make sure there are no lumps and just mix the cocoa, flour and baking soda together.

Bit by bit you want to start adding your dry stuff to your wet stuff. Do a section of dry at a time into the wet and just mix it in slowly until you have a thick and creamy mixture. Now the recipe I follow wants to tell me how many chocolate chips to put in, but I’m afraid that I simply will not be told. Just chuck in however many feel right to you. Don’t go insane or your cookies will just just melty chocolate lumps on the baking sheet. I trust you.

Get yourself a baking tray and rub it all over with slightly melted salted butter. This is a personal preference specifically for being high. I love the slight saltiness on the bottom of the cookie when they come out. If you don’t like that, you’re wrong, but just use non salted.

Spook your cookie dough into lumps on the tray, keep a bit of distance between them so you don’t end up with a giant cookie.

If your oven is ready to go you just whack those boys in for 12 minutes and then leave them to cool for as long as you can possibly manage. Et voila! You have yourself a delicious, gooey, chocolatey and slightly salty treat.

Vanilla Cupcakes with Buttercream Icing

These are a fantastic option if you know you are going to do some baked baking. Go to your closest purveyor of bakery goods and get yourself all sorts of food dyes, sprinkles, toppings, whatever you want because this tasty time is getting crafty.

You’ll Need:

Buttercream

  • 300g Icing Sugar
  • 3tbsp Milk
  • 1tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 150g Softened Butter
  • Food Colouring Of Your Choice

Cupcake

  • 110g Golden Caster Sugar
  • 2 Big Eggs
  • 110g Self Raising Flour
  • 110g Softened Butter
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract

Directions:

Preheat that oven to the same temperature as last time, 180 or gas mark 4. First we are going to make the cupcake batter which could not be easier. Grab yourself a whisk and beat together your butter and your caster sugar till they are nice and fluffy. Then you want to add in your eggs one at a time. This is good to make sure you’re not overwhelming your batter and ending up with a goopy mess. There is nothing as upsetting in stoned baking as having to start again.

Next you’re going to whack in your vanilla extract, sieve in your flour, add a pinch of salt and beat it all together into a lovely smooth batter.

Prepare your cupcake tray with some lovely colourful cupcake cases then spoon in your batter. Don’t put too much in or they will spill over when they rise in the oven.

Pop them in for 15 minutes and bring them out when they are golden, use a toothpick to check if they are cooked all the way through. If they are cooked the pick will come out clean. Do not leave these to cool in the tray, it is easily done and it will just mess them up. Get a wire rack and gently lift your golden babies out of the tray. Pop them on the rack and leave them to cool.

Now for the buttercream, which will be hard to not just eat by the spoonful like a decadent yoghurt. First you want to whisk your softened butter in a bowl on its own. Whisk it until it is super soft and fluffy. Add in your icing sugar, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt then whisk it all together. Don’t go mad straight away, try to fold in the icing sugar so it doesn’t explode everywhere. Now I would separate it into separate containers for however many colours you want to use. Then just go to town and make all the pretty icing you like! Once your cakes are cool you can pile them high with buttercream, sprinkles, those weird little silver ball things people use sometimes, whatever you like!

I could only fit two recipes into this first part but join me next time on best things to bake while stoned! Until then, have a scrumptious time.
