No matter how old you are, how fit, how well you eat or your weight there is a high chance that you will experience joint pain. Joints are essentially bits of bone that are doing everything they can to rub against each other. The only thing stopping them is fluid, which can wear down over time, or muscles that can become inflamed. The worst thing about joint issues is they usually don’t go away quickly or on their own. This means that many of us need to find ways to go about our days despite the pain. Cannabis is often prescribed to those who struggle with sore joints and arthritis. It is a natural painkiller that can reduce inflammation and help with day to day tasks. These are just a few of the best strains on the market for joint pain.

Girl Scout Cookies

This famous strain comes recommended for a wide variety of medicinal issues. It has a powerful cerebral effect with a nice full body pain relief. It is perfect for those suffering from joint pain, epilepsy, migraines, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, period pain, nausea or stress. She is considered to be one of the highest quality Californian strains of all time, which is saying something. Though it was born in the US it has quickly spread all over the world. It is a great strain for joint issues because it reduces pain so efficiently and helps with the inflammation that may be causing the pain. She is a good daytime strain for anyone who doesn’t have a huge amount to get done. However, it has a 22% THC level so it can get a little overwhelming if you’re not careful. Girl Scout Cookies has a grow time of 8 – 9 weeks in its autoflowering form. She will also grow well indoors or outdoors.

Blue Widow

This cross between Blueberry and White Widow is ideal for a day of just doing things around the house. Its THC level usually sits at just 12 – 16% so it won’t knock you out. The effect is powerfully physical yet cerebral and long-lasting. If you are experiencing severe pain in the joints this is a great strain to relieve that pressure. It is an elegant looking plant with a beautiful berry aroma, making it a delight in any garden. The buds are also dense and coated in resin. She also won 3rd place at the 2013 Indica Cup. Blue Widow is also great for newer growers especially as she can handle quite a few different growing environments. However, she doesn’t like a lot of cold so definitely make sure she isn’t left out in a chilly area. Blue Widow will grow best indoors or outdoors in warmer climates. She also has a short flowering time of 7 – 8 weeks.

Anesthesia

For those days where you just can’t move around and are in a huge amount of pain, this is a great strain. She may not be perfect for getting things done, but as a relaxing painkiller, she is second to none. Sometimes when you deal with joint issues you just need to take a day off. However, even the act of sitting watching TV can be uncomfortable or painful. For these days Anesthesia is the perfect strain because it’s a relaxing painkilling strain that is prescribed for a wide range of issues. Her THC level is 19% so she can knock you out if that’s what you’re looking for. This strain was created by combining two powerhouse strains, Black Domina and Northern Lights. This should give you a good idea of how intense her effect can be. The soporific aspect comes through so she is also perfect for anyone who is struggling to sleep due to pain. She has a flowering time of 50 – 55 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Harlequin CBD

This high CBD and low THC strain was created specifically for medicinal use. She has a CBD level of around 5% or higher and a THC level of 6.5%. This makes her a fantastic daytime strain because she works like any other anti-pain strain without making the brain go all peculiar. She is extremely soothing, relaxing and calming with powerful pain relief. She is usually recommended to those suffering from fibromyalgia, insomnia, anxiety, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, post-traumatic stress disorder, stress or pain. This is great for anyone who has things to do around the house or basic chores to go and do outside. She will relieve the pain but leave you focused and able to stay active. She also has a husky yet sweet flavour and scent with hints of mango. She was created by combining a few fantastic strains, namely Colombian Gold, Thai, Swiss Landrace, and Nepali Indica. She has a flowering time of 56 – 63 days and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

Cannatonic

Cannatonic tends to crop up in a lot of our best medicinal strains, but for good reason. She is an award-winner medicinal strain with a 1:1 CBD to THC ratio. She is often given to anyone struggling with things like joint pain, muscle spasms, inflammation, basically everything we need in a strain right now. She was created by combining Reina Madre and New York City Diesel, two fantastic strains. She won the 3rd Prize at the Sativa Cup HTCC  in 2008 and the  2013 HTCC CBD Flowers Prize. The CBD level is usually around 5% or higher and the THC won’t reach further than 6 – 7%. This makes her another fantastic daytime strain for anyone who needs to stay focused while dealing with their pain. She also produces extremely impressive yields of around 500g/m2. This is her indoor yield which is often a little higher than her outdoor. This plant does need to be treated well during growing, but she will more than reward a little TLC. She will usually take around 9 – 10 weeks to flower and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
