As we know there are countless strains and they all have their pros and cons. Some strains are great for a night of deep sleep, some for nausea, some for anxiety and so on. These strains are all the very best strains for a social setting. Strains that help with energy, happiness, euphoria, and are just generally best shared with friends. Cheese is a classic UK strain that has been topping the cannabis charts since the 90s. This strain is best known for its relaxing and calming effect which makes it a great strain for anyone with social anxiety. This strain is Indica dominant and can be a little soporific if smoked in large doses. The THC level is also 18% and maybe strong for first-time users. This strain is also well known and is named for the famous cannabis activist and author Jack Herer. She is a multi-award winner, in 2006 she took 2nd – High Life Cannabis Cup (Seed Bank Hydro Haze) and the same year she took 2nd – High Life Cannabis Cup (Grow Shop Hydro Haze). The effect is long-lasting and physical with an uplifting twist. The high is also clear-headed which makes it perfect for improving mood without completely messing up the mind. Again this is a fantastic strain for those who suffer from social anxiety. This strain was created by combining Red Skunk and Haze. The THC level is usually around 20% so Jack Herer can be quite strong but it’s a great way to boost appetite and deal with pain. This strain has a flowering time of 8 weeks and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
This is a powerful Sativa dominant strain that is both intense and long-lasting. The high is so feel good that it’s impossible to have a bad time with this strain. It’s perfect for socialising and just enjoying friends or family. Chocolope was created by combining Chocolate Thai and Cannalope Haze. It has also won several awards including High Times Strain of the Year in 2007, 1st in the Hydro Highlife Cup in 2008, 2nd in the Sativa High Time Cannabis Cup in 2010, 2nd Coffeeshop in the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2007, 2nd in the Hydro Highlife Cup in 2007, 3rd in the Hydro Highlife Cup in 2009, 3rd Coffeeshop in the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2008, 3rd Indoor at Bio Spannabis in 2008, 3rd in the Hollyweed Cup in 2006. She has a flowering time of 9 – 10 weeks and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
Blue Diesel is a good time strain, it is 60% Indica dominant and was created by combining Blueberry and Biodiesel Mass. It has a potency that ranges from 16% to 23% so it should not be taken lightly. It has a long-lasting and powerful high combined with the delicious scent and flavour of the Blueberry parent. After a little while, the effect becomes invigorating and energetic, perfect for socialising. Though this isn’t the best strain for a mental night out, more a fun afternoon picnic followed by a chill night in. While the high is still going it makes users chatty and happy, but once it wears off there will be a distinctly snoozy aftermath. This strain has a flowering time of 55 – 60 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.
This Sativa dominant baby is thought of as the extrovert strain. The high is cerebral and uplifting with a happy cerebral edge. This strain is pure Skunk and has been popular since the 1980s. The flavours and scents of the plant are a combination of citrus, oranges, and nectarines. The average THC level is 16.5% so smokers should be careful not to overdo it. This strain is great for socialising but also for those who are suffering from depression or anxiety. She is also good for just getting chores done in the house. She is a fantastic source of energy and perfect for having a good chin wag. This strain has a flowering time of 8 weeks and grows best indoors or in a greenhouse.
This strain is described as euphoric, stimulating, talkative and uplifting so of course, it had to feature on this list. Sour Lemon OG was created by combining Lemon OG and California Sour. It stimulates both the mind and the body providing plenty of energy while still removing anxiety and depression. Another strain that is also a great help if you just have a lot on that day. However, for those who struggle with social anxiety or just aren’t in their element at a party, this strain is perfect. The scent and flavour are a mix of apple, lime and general bright citrus. This strain takes a little longer to grow at 10 – 11 weeks but is well worth the wait. She is very versatile and can grow happily either indoors or outdoors.
Our final strain is Blueberry Headband, a combination of Emerald Headband and Blueberry. She has an impressive THC level of 19% – 23% so can be quite intense. The effect is powerful, long-lasting, relaxing and cerebral. Personally, this is my favourite as it allows one to attend a party without really having to be there. As someone who doesn’t care for social events, Blueberry is ideal as it is happy and comfortable with a disconnect that makes the event feel like it’s over before it even started. This strain is also perfect for anyone suffering from chronic pain. It has a flowering time of 63 – 68 days and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.
