Seed banks, breeders and strains you should know: Part 1

 

Growers and breeders have always kept seeds of good cannabis that came their way but it wasn’t until 1970s when first seed banks were established. It started with collecting ‘bag seeds’ they found in cannabis they bought or from plants they come across in their travels and they started to cross and breed them together. With the raise of cannabis culture, magazines like High Times started to offer and advertise seed sellers and seed banks have been a driving force for the movement, and later the legal industry, ever since.

 

In this series of articles we’re going to introduce seed banks, breeders and their most popular strains. Get to know them a bit better, how, when and why they started, what they’re about and what makes them going.
