Cosy Cannabis Hot Drinks Part 2

Cosy Cannabis Hot Drinks Part 2

Welcome back to cosy cannabis hot drinks, the best way to relax this Christmas. Last time we had a look at a variety of weed hot chocolates as well as some lovely homemade cannabis herbal tea. Now I’m going to get a little more festive with a recipe for cannabis-infused mulled wine. We are going to have a look at coffee as well, of course, nothing like a lovely little extra bit of THC with your caffeine in the morning. Especially if you still have gift shopping to do. Anyway, let’s go ahead and look into mulled wine and maybe one or two other cheeky booze based recipes if there is time.

Cannabis Mulled Wine

For this recipe you’re going to need to make a tincture, I explained this in part 1 but I’ll just give you a quick run-through.

You’ll need decarboxylated weed which you get by heating it in the oven for about 40 minutes. Add that in a sealable jar to some high proof alcohol like Everclear. Seal that jar up tight, give it a gentle shake, then store it in a cool dark place. You should leave it for around 24 hours, if you leave it any longer just remember to shake it again. Then strain it twice through some cheesecloth and there you have your cannabis tincture. Get some dark glass dropper bottles to store it in.

Now for the mulled wine recipe, you will need the following:

  • 1500 ml of Red Wine
  • ⅓ Cup of Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup of Orange Juice
  • 4 Star Anise
  • 4 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 10 Cloves
  • 1 Large Orange
  • 1 Lemon

You’re going to put everything but the orange and the lemon into a large cooking pot. Then you will want to peel the orange and pull it into segments then slice up. For the lemon you just need the zest, so zest the entire lemon into the pot. Then you’re going to put the hob on medium heat and stir with a whisk to make sure the ingredients keep moving and don’t burn. Once it reaches a steady simmer then just let it do its thing for about 15 minutes. Make sure you turn the heat down too low or you might burn it. Once the wine is ready you will need to let it completely cool before you add your cannabis tincture. Once the wine is nice and cool add about 4oz of your tincture, you don’t want to overdo it when you’re mixing THC and booze. Pop it in the fridge and you can heat it up again when you serve it.

Cannabis White Russian

In the last article, I talked about how to make cannabis milk so I want to do a quick recipe for a yummy winter White Russian that is ideal for the colder weather. So again a quick go over how to make your weed milk.

Decarboxylated weed goes in a saucer of full-fat milk or milk alternative. Simmer and stir for about 40 minutes and then strain through the cheesecloth. It’s that simple but if you want more detailed instructions just pop back to part 1.

So this hot weather White Russian has an espresso base rather than a milk one so it won’t be too much booze and weed together in one place. So the best way to make this is to make an espresso and pour it into a nice glass. Then you can add vodka, Kahlua, and I would recommend hot milk as well so the ingredients don’t make the drink warm instead of hot. Maybe grab one of those yummy chocolate stick things to pop in it, a dusting of cinnamon, and there you are, a delicious warm-weather boozy drink. Just be wary and don’t drink too many of these boys because they can really pack a punch.

Cannabis Coffee

When it comes to coffee it totally depends on how you take it. If you take milk then absolutely use the cannabis milk you’ve already made. If not then you can add about two or three drops of your tincture. If you’re going to make yourself a cannabis coffee then you may as well do it right.

Buy yourself some really nice coffee beans and a grinder if you don’t already have one. Seriously they pay for themselves in no time I absolutely love my one. Grind your beans and brew your coffee in a french press, leave it for a good while so it’s nice and rich. Plunge the coffee super slowly and pour into a cup, don’t add anything else until the coffee has cooled a little.

Once the coffee is no longer scalding add either the tincture or the cannabis milk. Then feel free to jazz it up with sugar, cream, chocolate, whatever you fancy. Remember this isn’t ordinary coffee time this is a lovely THC filled treat and should be treated as such.

Another great way to do this is to add a little whisky to your coffee, maybe use decaffeinated and have it in the evening. Another good option is to fill up a flask and take it on a lovely winter hike.

CBD Immunity Boosting Smoothie

Let’s finish with a quick recipe for a CBD immune system boosting smoothie for flu season. I know it’s not a hot drink so shush. For these you can use a CBD high weed to make your own tincture or you can just buy CBD oil.

You will also need:

  • 1 cup of Kale
  • 1 cup of Spinach
  • 1 handful of Almonds
  • 1 handful of Cashews
  • ½ cup of Coconut Milk
  • ¼ cup of Almond Milk
  • 2 tablespoons of Cacao

All you need to do is throw these boys, except the cacao, into a blender and blend until smooth. Then add the cacao and a few drops of CBD oil. Keep blending until you are happy with the consistency and you have a delicious way to stave off bugs and viruses. Also just great for energy during the winter and a fantastic way to start the day.
