So due to the increased popularity of cannabis, potentially to do with the increasing legality in America, it’s spreading over all forms of media. You have always been able to get weed merch, and now generally more people are openly discussing the plant including celebrities and wellness companies. However, there is one aspect of your life that you maybe didn’t know weed had come into. Four years ago we saw the launch of Xblaze, a prominent cannabis-centric porn company. However, just because they are the first to get serious media attention for cannabis porn doesn’t mean they are the first to do it. After a little more exploring I discovered that weed and porn had been intertwined for a while now. So I thought I would do a little more research, for work purposes, and I discovered a rich subculture that I found interesting so I decided you would too.

So it is easy to see how taboo sex and weed got tangled in each other. Any aspect of society that is looked down on will often find a friend in another. Drugs and porn have been connected for a long time which was especially true with the love affair between porn and cocaine in the 80s. However, the coke was usually back stage rather than a prominent feature of the videos. The porn I’m talking about is all about weed and one of the most popular companies is known as The Emerald Triangle Girls. I absolutely loved this name so I decided to research their company.

The Emerald Triangle Girls

It’s never easy to find out a massive amount about the companies themselves but I did my best. My favourite aspect of the company is that they do full length plot driven films that are reminiscent of classic “delivery man” porn. In fact one video is called “Ganja Girl Delivery”. Another of my absolute favourite titles is “My Stepmom Is A Stoner”.

My other absolute favourite thing about this company is that it’s woman-owned! As a woman it’s always great to see porn created by women. Not a long and scarily sharp acrylic in sight and the women involved don’t look like they are under duress. Their videos weren’t just about celebrating sex but celebrating the increasing legality of pot in America at the time. The combination of pornography and weed led this company down a more sensual, erotic and couple-friendly path. Note that this was back in 2016 so pretty progressive for the porn industry at the time. Even the way they shot it was different. They used a stationary camera so though the concepts were reminiscent of classic porn you don’t get all the mad close ups and jump shots where the camera decides what you want to see. Most ladies I know don’t just want a close up of someone’s foof for 15 minutes.

They have also been praised for the way that their porn isn’t just getting stoned and partying like a lot of Cali weed porn. None of that girls gone wild after smoking weed nonsense. They certainly started off amateur but as they became more and more popular they attracted some big screen talent that took the company to the next level. Unfortunately, the website and their twitter are no longer up and it’s very hard to find out what happened to them. However, their videos are still available on most of the big sites if you want to check out their work.

Xblaze

Now let’s move on to another company famous for its cannabis-themed porn. They came in a few years after The Emerald Triangle Girls, but they immediately became pretty popular. Of course, they are a California-based company and their popularity was likely connected to the rise in legality. One of the primary differences in the porn created by this company is that it is partly for education about cannabis products. They got a fair bit of media coverage for creating a video that focused on the amazing things that can be achieved with CBD. Mostly the focus is on CBD oil but it’s certainly a new angle for cannabis porn. The story of this particular video is pretty intense and focuses on an MMA fighter recovering from addictions issues. His girlfriend hears about CBD oil and its many uses. She convinces him to try it because she is concerned that he will return to opioids to deal with his pain issues. Then they bang a bunch and so on. I love how earnest and oddly loving this plotline is while also focusing on educating people about how CBD can help with addiction. The company founder Jeff Dillon also made the news due to the letter he wrote to Rosanne Barr after the racist comedian said that intensely racist stuff that got her show cancelled, allegedly or whatever. This might taint your opinion of the porn pioneer slightly as the offer seemed potentially genuine and in the letter he praised her for speaking her mind and said the words “politically correct”. I read so many different articles about this letter and honestly can’t figure out if it’s a joke or not. If it’s a lark it’s drier than sandpaper in a desert. So yeah I dunno I guess maybe consider and research before supporting this company too much.

Weed Porn

I’ve definitely come to realise that weed porn is still popular despite its height hitting around 5 years ago. Some are cannabis specific companies that focus entirely on weed themed videos, some are just having a bit of fun getting stoned while filming. If we know anything about porn it’s that for some reason inebriated women who can’t fully consent or make decisions are pretty popular. Sorry my stance on porn is confusing, I feel many different ways about the industry as a whole but my stance now is check out Emerald Triangle Girls and basically any other woman-owned porn company. It’s just better for everyone.
