Cooking With Cannabis Easter Treats Part 2

In part 1 we covered a few delicious sweet treats to make for Easter this year, but how about something for my savoury lovers out there. I think chocolate is great but given the option between a gooey chocolatey cake and a pile of melted cheese and carbs, I’m always going to go for the latter. If you’re going to an Easter potluck or having a traditional roast dinner these are some fantastic options, as long as everyone is fine with their ham getting them super high. I’m going to tell you how to bake a ham in cannabis oil. You can do anything with this stuff these days. If you aren’t sure how to make cannabis oil or cannabis butter please peep part 1 which has a quick run through at the start.

Mac and Cheese

This is a classic side dish, maybe a little more American as far as roast sides go but a winner for making a stoner meal. This is perfect for sharing, if you eat the whole thing on your own you probably won’t remember much of Easter but that’s really up to you.

You will need:

  • 57 grams Cannabutter
  • 1 Pack of Macaroni
  • 60 grams Plain Flour
  • 500 grams Cheddar Cheese
  • 225 grams Mozzarella
  • 225 grams Emental
  • 700ml Warm Milk
  • 1tsp Smoked Paprika
  • Salt and Pepper To Taste

Method:

First set aside some of the cheese for the topping, I recommend a chunk of the grated cheddar.

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C.

Next, cook your macaroni and put it to the side so it’s ready for the sauce.

Get yourself a saucepan and put in the cannabutter, stirring carefully until it’s melted. Then stir in the flour until it’s smooth before adding the milk. This will make the base for your sauce so make sure everything is silky smooth before the next stage. Also, keep it on the heat for a couple of minutes so it’s warm enough to melt the cheese.

Next, add most of the cheese and the paprika to the sauce and stir till it thickens and is fully combined.

Salt and pepper to your tastes and then stir in the macaroni.

Pour all of this into a nice baking dish, maybe butter the dish before putting the pasta in.

Then put the rest of the cheese along with maybe a little parsley and breadcrumbs if you have them over the top of the pasta and sauce.

Put the dish in the oven and bake for 25 – 35 minutes, when the top is golden brown it should be done.

Cannabis Baked Ham

This is a great idea for anyone hosting a stoner Easter dinner, I guarantee people are going to be impressed by the effort on this one. Although it seems difficult, it’s surprisingly simple.

You will need:

  • 1 Smoked Cured Ham
  • 59 ml Cannabis Olive Oil
  • 134g Brown Sugar
  • 236ml Apple Cider
  • 118ml Orange Juice
  • 59ml Mustard
  • Pinch Salt
  • ¼ tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

Method:

Preheat your oven to 150 degrees C.

First, you want to place your ham on a clean work surface.

Take a medium saucepan and mix your apple cider, mustard, orange juice, brown sugar and cannabis oil and cook gently. Let it thicken, the thicker the better when it comes to your glaze. Once it’s at a decent thickness take it off the heat and let it cool for at least 30 minutes.

This will ensure that it will coat the ham instead of just dripping off.

Once it has cooled glaze your ham and bake it for 1 – 2 hours. Make sure that you baste it and keep it moist. This will also stop your lovely cannabis oil from collecting at the bottom instead of soaking into the meat.

Cannabis Deviled Eggs

I was never much of a fan of the concept of a deviled egg, then I had one and it’s amazing. Plus it is a cheap and tasty party option, especially if they get people stoned.

You will need:

  • 1 ½ tbsp Cannabis Oil
  • ½ tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • Paprika Garnish

Method:

First, you’re going to hard boil your eggs. If you’re not sure how to do that then you just need to pop your eggs in cold water on the stove. Then put on medium heat until the water boils for 10 – 15 minutes.

Take your eggs out of the boiling water and put them into cool water in another medium-sized pan. Let them cool right down otherwise, they are going to be hard to work with.

Carefully take the shells off all of your eggs and cut them lengthwise down the middle.

Use a small spoon to carefully remove the yolks and put them all into a large mixing bowl.

Then add the mustard, cannabis oil, mayonnaise, garlic powder and onion powder to the yolks. Mix them all up until you have a creamy yolk mixture.

You’ll then spoon this back into the whites of the eggs and sprinkle them with paprika.

Pop them in the fridge for at least an hour and serve them chilled.

Cannabis Quiche

This last one is another great option for a party, especially if it’s nice and sunny.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 Premade Pie Crust (You can make one if you want I’m just lazy)
  • 340 g Cheddar Cheese
  • 113 g Fetta
  • 113 g Spinach
  • 117 ml Milk
  • 1 tsp Cannabutter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1tsp olive oil

Method:

Preheat your oven to 190 degrees C.

First, get your pie crust ready by unrolling and pressing it into a pie dish crimping the edges with a fork.

Lightly melt the cannabutter and brush it onto the pie crust.

Now wilt your spinach and chop your fetta up into little cubes.

Pop them in a mixing bowl with the eggs and milk as well as some pepper and salt.

Put about ¾ of the cheddar on the bottom of the pastry and then pour in the liquid ingredients over the top.

Use the last of the cheese to cover it and put it in the oven for around 35 minutes. Give it 10 minutes to cool and you’re done!
