For those who wish to do things the old way, Smooth Smoke is now available in regular format or indeed, for breeders who want to harvest some pollen from male plants.
It is a 50/50 hybrid of Nepalese Highland x Pakistan Chitral Kush ('06 cut) giving an equal division of the genetics of indica and sativa.
As it has excellent resistance to the cold, high humidity, mould spores and a range of pests that can attack and destroy plants, Smooth Smoke is a breeze to grow.
As with the dense, resin-covered buds, plants remain fairly compact.
Flowering times range from 55 to 65 days, with yields ranging from average to elevated depending on the conditions and the skill of the grower.
With the added complexity of red fruits and Kush/hash, the flavour is sweet, creamy, candy-like, with musky notes being more apparent in the purple phenotypes.
The overall effect tends towards the medicinal properties of the indica side, which will undoubtedly be developed as both Tropical Seeds and other breeders explore the two phenotypes and exploit their potential in additional breeding programmes.
