The Real Seed Company is a group that started life in 2007. They are a group of traditional breeders who are extremely passionate about preserving some of the oldest, rarest, pure strains. They travel the world finding these strains, testing them, and then taking them to their seed bank to breed and sell them.

They have strains from such legendary areas as Kerala, Thailand, and Mazar-i-Sharif. They came up with the idea when they realised the blow that biodiversity was taking after the prohibition of cannabis. It is important to keep these strains alive and kicking lest we end up with a bunch of hybrid nonsense and no base for new and exciting strains.

They supply CBD high strains for medicinal use and THC high strains for recreational use. Something for everyone. Their catalogue is not gigantic yet but they are always finding new strains. They tend currently to prefer selling regular seeds to genetically altered variations.

Regular seeds have always been preferred by the traditional growers as they are far less complex. They can also alter the genetic integrity of some of the strains by lowering the potency and taking out some of the more desirable traits. The regular seed has many excellent uses when it comes to breeding. Even though it is possible to breed seeds with feminised plants it is a very complex process. With the regular seeds the best males and females can be selected to cultivate a seed harvest. This not only means that genetic weakness can be weaned out but, since seeds take on the best traits from each parent, it is possible to improve the genetic line.
