DJ short is famous world wide for his extremely impressive and select collection of seeds which he has been breeding to perfection since the 1970s. Many of these strains are very exotic and exciting but none are over the top, since he works so selectively he doesn't just create something that he thinks will be fun. There is a lot of deliberation and testing that has gone into each strain to ensure that the flavour, potency, and taste are up to his standards. For example take the famous blueberry DJ Short seeds which have even won an award. Even though it all sounds terribly flash he still stores a good collection of regular seeds.
Regular seeds are your average, run of the mill, seed with absolutely no genetic alteration whatsoever. Used primarily by the more old school breeders out there who like to keep everything simple and the way that they have always grown. Which you have to respect.
Regular seeds produce a roughly 50/50 ratio of male and female seeds, occasionally this alters in favour of the females, and so if you need male plants for activities such as pollination then these are the seeds to go for. Many growers prefer to be in control of their own seed cultivation, this way they know that anything that goes right or wrong is completely on them, no need to rely on others. Also when they are cultivating their own seeds they choose the parent plants, so can pick the studs from their crop and use their pollen of only the finest females. Seeds will take in the finest traits from each parent so this can be a very worthwhile venture.
DJ Short's seeds are 100% organically grown and use both new and old world genetics. Just because its not new doesn't mean its not interesting, some of the finest methods and strains are those that are tried and tested. Then again there is nothing wrong with throwing a newer strain in there to spice things up a little. To me that sounds like some very clever selective breeding that would supply the consumer with a fantastic product.
