One of the newer strains in the Medical Seeds line, Malakoff Feminised has many appealing qualities. Not the least of those qualities is its reputation for having an impressively short flower period.
Malakoff is one of those rare feminised varieties that we cannot recommend for novice growers.
While it is well worth the effort, it takes an observant eye and a certain degree of skill with cannabis cultivation to know when to back off on the lighting and let the flowering begin.
It is for this reason that these plants also work better indoors than out. They will grow outdoors, but it takes some good planning on the grower's part to make it work.
Indoors, the process is simple: start with an 18/6 light cycle and keep an eye on things. Ease it back to 12/12 when it's time for flowering.
Outdoors, it can be a bit trickier but a good rule of thumb is to plant by early June and be ready to begin harvesting around the beginning of October.
Total germination time for this strain is only 75 days from seed. In the plus column for outdoor growers, these plants are particularly resistant to mould and fungus and naturally repel many common cannabis pests.
The effect of Malakoff is strong and cerebral but also very stimulating and energising. It has a flavour that has to be experienced to be believed: an overtone of classic Sativa mixed with the unmistakable undercurrent of strawberries and cream.
Don't miss the chance to work with these seeds. They do require a little more effort than average but it is so unique that it's well worth growing at least once just to try it out.
Commercial and hobbyist growers alike will appreciate the generous yields and quality of the finished product.
