Skunk #1 is one of the most famous and popular strains currently in existence. It has been the genetic base for dozens of fantastic strains and actually changed the way that we view cannabis cultivation.
Skunk is so well known for its extreme potency that people often misuse the name and attach it to any particularly powerful cannabis. Skunk#1 is basically the standard that all breeders work by as it is so immensely resilient, reliable and robust.
Vigour wise there isn't a plant around that can outdo Skunk #1, its huge yields and fast growing time are unmatched.
Skunk #1 is a delightful and well-balanced Indica/ Sativa hybrid. Both sides of the family can be observed in Skunk's growth, whilst the flowering and speed are exceedingly reminiscent of and Indica the height is slightly more to the Sativa side of the family.
From all of these massively positive attributes it is not hard to understand why this strain is so very popular.
This classic strain is now available in feminised seeds. The purpose of feminised seeds is to improve the growing process for growers and breeders alike, predominantly growers.
This is simply because they were created to remove the irritation of male seeds. Growers have no need for male seeds as they have no intention of creating their own future crops.
Feminised seeds assures maximum efficiency in time, money, and space. Using feminised seeds means that all available growth space is used to its fullest by not wasting any of the space on male plants.
Male plants also need to be removed at the start of the flowering process lest they harm or unwontedly fertilise the female plants, this is a waste of time.
When it comes to money the argument is simple, essentially a grower would have to purchase twice as many regular seeds to receive the same number of female plants.
As far as breeders are concerned the feminised seeds can still be an excellent investment. The process by which all female plants are used for breeding is, however, a complex one which should only be attempted by experienced growers.
Females are capable of producing feminised pollen which can be used to fertilise another female. This pollen is essentially the same as the male pollen except for the fact that it contains only female genes. Thus, the resulting seeds must grow into female plants.
Feminised seeds have also been recorded to have higher levels of uniformity and quality than their regular counterparts.
Skunk #1 grows to a medium height, has a large yield, and a short growing time of just 50 - 60 days. This strain, if grown outdoors, thrives in a sunny or Mediterranean environment.
Please remember that the growing of cannabis plants and the cultivation of seeds is illegal in some countries - please check the laws of your country and don't be growing any plants if it is against your country's laws.
