Frisian Duck Feminised Seeds

Frisian Duck stands out from the crowd on account of its peculiar leaves. The shape of the leaves are not that of a traditional cannabis plant and so it can be rather difficult to identify.

In fact the peculiar name of the plant came from these odd leaves as they are shaped like a duck's foot, adorable I know. The leaves are especially webbed foot shaped in the first 2/3rds of the plant's life cycle.

The plant was created by crossing Frisian Dew with DucksFoot.

This plant is an extremely unique one which is a little stealthier than most plants whilst still being very robust. The buds produced by Frisian Duck are very compact and have a deliciously spicy pine scent with just a hint of citrus.

The scent is also reflected in the taste which is extremely pleasing and gives a refreshing, buzz effect. The plant is tough and easy to grow which makes it ideal for the less experienced growers out there.

Frisian Duck is, as many of Dutch Passions plants are, a feminised seed. Feminised seeds are primarily used by growers and breeders who do not enjoy using male plants.

These days many experienced breeders prefer to use all female plants as the resulting seeds are often of higher quality and uniformity. The way in which feminised seeds are bred sounds simple but is, in practice, rather complex.

Female plants, if properly stressed, can emit a feminised pollen. This pollen is then used to fertilise another female plant. The resulting seeds will only contain female genetics and are, therefore, bound to only be female.

This method was perfected by Dutch Passion. Many growers prefer to use these seeds as they eliminate the pesky male plants. Males take up unnecessary space in a crop which could be better used by female plants.

They also waste time as they need to be removed at the start of the flowering period. Regular seeds will grow into a crop which is half males and half females. This means they also waste money as half of the seeds paid for by the grower are thrown away.

Over all, it has become much more sensible to deal in feminised seeds. Frisian Duck was created as an outdoor plant but can also be grown indoors. Indoors the plant will reach a height of around 1.5 meters whereas it can get up to 2 meters outdoors.

Frisian Duck will flower around 8 weeks after germination.
