Usually male plants have to be removed during the growing process which is a waste of perfectly good time and money. The chance of an all-female crop is almost 100% which means that the grower doesn't need to purchase twice the number of seeds for the same number of plants.
If a breeder wanted to use these seeds that is still extremely possible, if a little tricky. Experienced growers will be able to stress the female plants into producing feminised pollen which can be used in exactly the same way as the male pollen.
This is accomplished through careful light manipulation and a few other tricks. These seeds will have a greater level of genetic purity than regular seeds.
