Nirvana Seeds' Short Rider comprises of a mixture of two of their discontinued strains, Top 44 and Early Specials.
Top 44 has been a long standing favourite in the Cannabis scene, due largely to the huge amounts of potent, Skunk-heavy buds it produced within a flowering period of only 44 days.
Early Special is a hybrid containing the Siberian Cannabis Ruderalis genes need to create an autoflowering seed, meaning a grower has no need of a strict lighting schedule for these seeds, while still maintaining a good quality of plant.
The fact that this seed is feminised and autoflowering, make it among the lowest maintenance strains on the market.
A grower would be saving money and resources via the feminisation of the seed, as when simply growing the same strain, there are no more unwanted male plants taking up unnecessary space, time and money that could be going towards other, female plants.
A grower would no longer need to dispose of the countless males produced by regular seeds. Some growers also assume that if a seed is feminised, it cannot be used to breed, however, if an experienced grower wanted to breed, they could do it using the females.
It is a slightly more difficult process to execute, but when done correctly, the resulting offspring will be of a better quality and uniformity, meaning the breeder can have an idea of the quality being produced at all times.
The fact that it is autoflowering also means a dramatic reduction to the flowering period, and gets rid of the need for a rigorous light set up, which, again, saves a grower precious time and effort. It is easy to see why this seed type is so popular.
The flowering period for this strain is approximately 5 to 7 weeks and has a yield of around 200-300 grams per square meter.
