Cooking With Cannabis – The Ultimate Fry Up

There may not be a better way to kick off a Sunday morning than a big hearty breakfast that also gets you stoned! The fry up has always been a staple of a lazy day, primarily because it’s necessary to spend the few hours after consumption lying around and trying to digest the ridiculous amount of food. Now we can level that up by lying around, digesting food, being comfortably high and watching a hilarious film we haven’t seen for years. Doesn’t that sound ridiculously good? These are just a few staples of a fry up, both meaty and veggie, that can easily be combined with cannabis cooking products to make something delicious and potent.

Cannabis Coffee

Let’s get started with a staple of a fry up that is also nice and easy to infuse with weed.

All we need is:

Coffee

Half Gram of Weed

Coconut Oil or Butter

700 ml Water

The actual process couldn’t be easier. Grind up the weed, ideally using a good quality grinder to get it as fine as possible. Then bring the water to a boil, add the butter or oil and give it a good stir. Once it’s boiling add the weed and then let it simmer for about 40 minutes, stirring as you go. Strain the mixture and there you have cannabis water to use with your coffee. Couldn’t be simpler, if maybe a little time-consuming. A lot of these steps can be done in tandem to make sure no time is wasted.

Ethereal Eggs

I’m going to just do two easy options for eggs because all we need to do is use cannabis butter. There are several easy ways to make cannabis butter that we will be able to use for a variety of kitchen activities. So for those who like to eat their stash, it’s a good idea to just make some for the fridge.

2 Eggs Per Person

Large Knob Cannabis Butter

Salt and Pepper to Taste

Scrambled

First, break your eggs into a bowl and whisk with a fork until there is a good film of bubbles on the top of the eggs. While you’re doing this let the cannabutter melt in a pan and wait for it to start bubbling slightly. As soon as it bubbles it is the perfect temperature, pour in the eggs and move them around the pan, making sure they don’t stick. When the liquid is just about gone from the eggs they are ready, then you can season how you like.

Fried

Fried eggs are extremely easy and I’m sure most of you already know what you’re doing there. Again melt the butter, or if you want a greasy fry up use cannabis oil that can also be made at home. When it is bubbling or sizzling crack the eggs into the pan and wait for the thin liquid film on top of the egg to disappear. This should be the perfect time to remove the eggs and have the white crispy but the yolk runny.

Blazed Bacon

Yup, it is possible to infuse your bacon with weed as well! This also works on vegetarian bacon substitutes.

Half a Gram of Weed

Several Slices of Pork or Veggie Bacon

That is all you are going to need to make your weed-infused breakfast meat.

First, we decarboxylate just like we would before making butters, oils, etc. We are then going to pop our bacon or fakon onto a greased pan and preheat the grill. Sprinkle your baked cannabis onto the strips and pop under the grill until it starts to crisp. Then simply remove the bacon, flip it over, sprinkle the other side, and put it back under until fully cooked. Obviously, the more cannabis sprinkled on the more intense the bacon will be. I would also suggest saving the bacon grease afterwards as it will also be full of activated weed.

Baked Beans (That One Sorted Itself Out)

No fry up is complete without baked beans, and once again we can easily spice them up with a little extra high.

1 Tbsp Cannaoil (or cannabis bacon fat if you have enough)

2 Cloves Garlic

1 Tin of Baked Beans

1 Tsp of Smoked Paprika

All we are going to do is heat that cannabis oil up in a frying pan before adding the minced garlic and letting it all sizzle and soak for a minute or two. Then we add our tin of beans and our paprika as well as any other seasoning that you happen to fancy. Stir it through thoroughly and keep stirring till the beans are completely heated. Yep, again it is just that easy.

Pot Pancakes

This last one is for if you are feeling extra decadent, otherwise the previous ingredients will go perfectly with some lovely toast or tattie scones (potato scones to some of you).

3.5 tsp of Melted Cannabutter

100 g Plain Flour

300ml Milk

Pinch Salt

Combine salt and flour in a large mixing bowl and then make a dent in the centre. Crack in the two eggs then add half of the milk and butter before starting to whisk the mixture together. Continue to add the milk and butter until the mixture is nice and smooth.

Then we just heat a pan and smear on some oil with a piece of kitchen roll. Wait for it to smoke slightly and then add a scoop of batter to the pan and cook until the top starts to bubble and it is stiff enough to flip. Cook until golden brown and there you have a weed pancake. Repeat as many times as the batter allows, making sure to regrease the fryinpan.

There we have a perfect cannabis fry up for the perfect lazy Sunday. I should say that it might be a good idea to pick one item off this menu rather than cooking all of them. Although, far be it from me to tell you what to do with your weekend. Bon appetite!
